About Charlie Crane

Charlie Crane is a Paris-based publisher of baby and children's furniture. Founded in 2012 by Thomas Lépine, it has the ambition to create beautiful and stylish furniture that brings adult codes into the world of the child and blurs the boundaries of rooms in our current interior. With Charlie Crane creations, parents are proud to display their children's furniture throughout the house. The bouncer is integrated into the living room decor; the high chair matches the dining table and chairs and the bedstead becomes a work of art! Charlie Crane has a real publisher approach.

They primarily work with designers. This new French generation, which brings with it both the tradition of technical excellence – especially that of the French pioneers of the 1950s (Prouvé, Perriand, Hitier…) – and this openness to multiple foreign influences. In particular the Scandinavian design from the 50s and 60s and the recent Vegetal Design.

The first Charlie Crane products - the LEVO lounger and the NOGA chest of drawers - were created by two designers trained at the Boule school: Erick Demeyer and Steven Leprizé, who worked together in the ARCA agency. The TIBU chair was designed by the design duo Gaspard Tiné-Berès and Tristan Kopp from the Re-Do studio. Only the MUKA bed and the KUMI crib by Gaspard Tiné-Berès and the BAKI desk by Erick Demeyer.

materials

Charlie Crane prefers noble and natural materials such as bent wood, with which complex shapes can be sculpted and round objects can be presented. An ideal sweet treat for children. This technique also has the advantage of being much more accurate than assembling wooden parts, making it possible to manufacture excellent quality parts at an affordable cost. We will also mention metal, and in particular pipes, which again make it possible to form complex and round shapes.

Charlie Crane has been working with other textile companies in recent seasons to mix influences. These include Little Cabari, My Moumout, Le Petit Lucas du Tertre and, in the future, Milinane.
