Majvillan is a Swedish wallpaper company that creates magical worlds full of love.

The brand

In 2013 Majvillan launched their first wallpaper collection. In the fall of the same year this collection was followed up. In the meantime the brand offers a wide range including children's room wallpaper.

Properties

Majvillan attracts attention because of the magical figurative and graphic patterns in black pastel shades combined with grey and cream. In some patterns even gold prints are added to give that extra shine.

Founder

Behind Majvillan is Charlotta Sandberg, the designer and founder of the brand. Charlotta has been an artist and painter for many years. The name of the brand comes from the home of the designer called Majvillan.

Charlotta Sandberg explains;
“We named our home something that would convey the feeling we wanted our home to have. “Majvillan” felt right because the month of May is a time of anticipation when nature awakens and the colors are light and bright. “From an empty shell, the world and life awakens”. She wanted the brand to have the same feeling, so the name choice was easy!”

Patterns

When Charlotta designs patterns, she is inspired by the feeling she wants them to convey. She loves to create little worlds and places to visit. The colours are very important, a colour is so much more than just a colour. She is looking for shades and shapes that are cheerful, clever and calming at the same time. "My creativity is driven by everything that is beautiful and I love to put things together both on paper and in reality". It makes her feel alive and Charlotta just loves that!

Eco-friendly living

Environment and sustainability are important to Majvillan. All products are environmentally friendly produced of the highest quality to ensure a long lifespan.

All textiles are made of 100% organic cotton and are GOTS certified. The manufacturer is also certified by Fairtrade, Organic Exchange, Oeko tex etc. This also ensures environmentally friendly production and good social responsibility. The fabric is soft and supple and they have put a lot of emphasis on all details. Good design and functionality always go hand in hand.

The children's wallpaper is produced in Sweden at an environmentally friendly printer on a non-woven material with water-based colours and completely free of solvents and PVC. Excess colour is processed in an environmentally friendly way and paper waste is converted into heat. The wallpaper from Majvillan has a very nice surface where you can feel the colour structure with your bare hand.
